Day 28- Your favorite movie by your favorite director
What you’re black and Spike Lee isn’t your favorite director!?? Nope, it’s Wes Anderson. I’ve written about this movie a couple times on my blog and if it wasn’t for my childhood affinity for The Lion King this would be my favorite movie. Excellent script, cast, cinematography, soundtrack. It just has everything.
Day 18- A movie you wish more people would’ve seen
I could easily pick any of Wes’s movies but I know his early work has been less popular than his movies after The Royal Tenenbaums. This movie is hilarious and is Anderson at his quirkiest. Basically I’m telling you to watch this movie when you get a chance because I feel like me and my brother are the only people who’ve seen it besides movie critics.
Day 9- Best movie soundtrack
I used Nick and Norah already so the next thing I thought of was Wes Anderson. I could’ve picked probably any of his movies but this one wins for me. From Seu Jorge doing Bowie covers to the actual Bowie song “Queen Bitch” to the compositions from Mark Mothersbaugh, this soundtrack just fit this movie so well.
