Clifford Brown- George’s Dilemma

To me Miles Davis is just a pretty good trumpet player

But he knows how to pick his spots. He’s more Count Basie than Gillespie. He’s played with incredible musicians like Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Paul Chambers and so many more. I think he’s more of a Stockton than a Jordan though. He can show you some flashes of taking the spotlight and having a big night, but his bigger deal is trying to set up and compliment those around him.

Incredible visionary and talent but not the best trumpet player in jazz history in my eyes.
